Chair

This is my finished chair. We could design it any way we like. I decided to draw a hummingbird and sunflower. I also drew vines and sunflowers coming up the legs of the chair. The elements used were color and texture. The principles used were rhythm and movement, unity, and emphasis.

Rendering

This is my rendering project. i decided to use a picture of my grandpa. The picture was drawn out square by square. Towards the end, the borders were removed in order to shade the piece as a whole. The element value was used. The principles used were proportion and unity.

Human Figure

This is my human figure drawing. The assignment was to draw the outline of a body, in any position. After drawing it out, we could design it any way we like. I decided to design it with cherry blossom flowers and a poem in the center. The elements used in this piece were shape and form and space. The principles used were pattern, rhythm and movement, and unity.

Altered Piece of Paper

This is the altered piece of paper that I drew. Our assignment was to crumple up the piece of paper and then draw it, incorporating different shades of grey showing where shadows came in. The elements are shape and form and value. The principle is emphasis.

Metamorphosis

This is my metamorphosis project. I decided to start with a hula hoop and turn it into the skirt that a dancer would be wearing. In each different stage more is added to the picture, showing the transition in the drawing. The elements are color and space. The principles are pattern and rhythm and movement.

Color Wheel

This is my color wheel. For this assignment we had to incorporate all the different colors of the color wheel into our painting. I had to mix different colors together to make a new color. I started with basic colors and then began putting in the more complex ones. The elements are color, value, and texture. The principles are pattern and unity.

Book Cover

This is my book cover. I decided to draw out the cover of my favorite book when I was little. This piece was done with watercolors. I knew that since I was working with the cover of a children's book it would be a good thing to incorporate a lot of bright colors. The element of this piece was color.
